Central Queensland Seamers all-rounder Joe McGahan has been awarded the Dirk Tazelaar Medal for player of the Country Challenge.
Joe was the leading run-scorer for the tournament with 158 at an average of 39.5 and he also took eight wickets at an average of 11, including three in the semi final.
McGahan played a big role as captain of a side looking to get back to the Gabba for the first time since 2018. He scored 29 (31) and 2/21 vs Sunshine Coast, 2/31 and 63 (48) in the draw against South East Queensland, 1/19 and 39 (30) in a must win game against the Monsoons to push into an unlikely semi-final and then 3/17 and 27 (16) to get his side into the Gabba final.
Congratulations Joe!
