Former Australian Cricket legend, Wayne “Flipper” Phillips and Queensland’s second highest wicket-taker of all-time, Andy Bichel have headlined the South Brisbane Cricket Club fundraising lunch held at the Port Office Hotel.
The lunch was put on by the Bulls Masters as part of their Queensland Premier Cricket Club Series Lunches to assist with the fundraising efforts of the QPC clubs in the South East.
Around 90 supporters of Souths filled the Port Office on Thursday the 7th of March and Andy Bichel was the first to hit the stage, telling stories of remarkable World Cup wins and 12th Man records.
Phillips was next and his humour proved a hit with the Souths faithful as the former Australian Cricket legend told tales of playing in the golden era of the seventy’s and eighty’s.
If Flipper couldn’t get you laughing then comedian, Fred Lang hit the stage to finish off a marvellous afternoon of fun in the name of raising money to support Souths.
