Andrew Symonds was a popular and inspirational man and player. His former teammates and friends head to Far North Queensland to celebrate his life every year. The “Remembering Roy” tour is always one of the biggest on the Bulls Masters calendar and this year was no different.
The tour began with some school visits. Andy Bichel and Carl Rackemann headed to Saint Augustines in Cairns to help out with some special coaching and Joe Dawes, Michael Kasprowicz and Gavin Fitness went to St Andrew’s Catholic College and Newmans Catholic College.
The main event was the Sportsman’s lunch at the Casino. The Bulls Masters had assembled one of the greatest line-ups of special guests ever seen with two time US Open tennis champion Patrick Rafter, former Australian Cricket Captain’s Ian and Greg Chappell plus internationally renowned poet Rupert McCall providing the on-stage entertainment. Other legends who attended the event included legendary horse-trainer Peter Moody, former Australian Cricket legends Allan Border, Ian Healy, Andy Bichel, Michael Kasprowicz, Jimmy Maher and Carl Rackemann plus Queensland Cricket legends Joe Dawes, Ken Healy and Gavin Fitness.
The lunch was a fundraiser for Cricket Far North and COUCH which does great work supporting people affected by cancer in the Far North.
