Mackay/Whitsundays opening batter Darryn Dyer had a Bulls Masters Country Challenge to remember scoring 261 runs in four games at an average of 87 and a strike rate of 166. Dyer began his tournament with 28 (13) against South East Queensland. Dyer then scored back to back centuries against the Wide Bay Flames (114 off 70) and Central Queensland (102* off 64). Dyer then scored 17 from 10 balls in the semi-final.

Dyer scored more than double any other player in the tournament to be a deserved winner of the Dirk Tazelaar Medal for player of the Bulls Masters Country Challenge.
