The Bulls Masters have a lot of supporters in Central Queensland so we hardly needed any excuse to sneak up to Rockhampton for the biggest show in town, Beef Week!
The Knight Frank Agri-Business and Empire Apartment Hotel sportsman’s lunch was the hottest ticket in town with reports that it sold out in around four minutes. With legendary horse-trainer Peter Moody plus Australian Cricket greats Darren Lehmann and Carl Rackemann as the main acts we are not surprised it was a popular event.
Over 450 passionate sports lovers crammed into the long paddock for the fundraising lunch with all proceeds going towards the Bulls Masters cricket programs in the Central Queensland Region. Peter Moody was the first to hit the stage and he was irreverent and honest with his reflections on his career and observations on the industry.
Darren Lehmann and Carl Rackemann followed with some humorous musings on their careers including a fascinating recital of David Boon’s record breaking flight from Sydney to London for the 1989 Ashes Series and Carl stole the show with his story about his record breaking innings at the SCG in 1991.
Cameron Boyce and Nathan Reardon are two of the most active young coaches in the Bulls Masters ranks and they got up into the schools to run clinics which were well received too.
