Bulls Masters Steak and Shiraz Club Lunch Series
The annual Bulls Masters Wynnum Manly Club Series lunch was back with a bang in 2024 with Australian Cricket larrakin Merv Hughes and Melbourne Cup winning jockey Jimmy Cassidy making the trip up to Queensland to headline the event held at the Port Office Hotel.
The event has served as an important fundraising venture for the Sea Eagles and 2024 was another example of how the Wynnum club is proactive in improving their club facilities and standards.
Jimmy “Pumper” Cassidy hit the stage with honesty and irreverence, telling tales of race wins, suspensions and controversy.
Jimmy won two Melbourne Cups in an esteemed career that included more than 100 Group One victories.
Next up on stage was the most famous moustache in cricket… of course that belongs to Merv Hughes who loves to support the Bulls Masters events. Merv updated the audience on Victoria Cricket’s progress on building their own version of the Bulls Masters. Merv had a fascinating career during the 80’s and 90’s and he was a part of the emergence of Australia as a super power in the sport after their struggles in the early 80’s.
The Bulls Masters offer to host these fundraising lunches to all Queensland Premier Cricket clubs and Norths are the next one on the schedule.
